DESCRIPTION:

Yinyangflow brings together the benefits of passively holding yoga poses, with more dynamic sequences and standing postures.

TYPICAL CLASS:

As the name suggests, this class is half yin and half yang. What does that mean? Yin Yoga was created to hold passive stretches for long periods of time, 3 minutes being a minimum. By doing this you are reaching fascia and connective tissue deep within the body and joints, as well as the pathways of the meridian system (energy channels), resulting in better flexibility, joint mobility and increased circulation. Yang, on the other hand, is a more dynamic practise that develops muscular strength, stamina and flexibility.

 

OUTCOME/BENEFITS:

Deepens flexibility. Improves joint mobility. Increases circulation. Boost stamina and strength. Rejuvenates mind and body. Releases stress and tension.

 

NOTES:

Caution should be taken when holding an injury. Communication is key – please let us know if you are pregnant, on medication, recovery and so on. Each class offers a range of equipment such as yoga mats, bolsters, blocks, blankets and straps. These props are free to use whether suggested by the teacher at the start of the class or not. Music might be played at a low and respectful volume, being able to follow the sound of your own breath is always a bonus ☺
